Are you thinking of getting a pet? Or maybe you already have one and have quickly realised your home was not ready for them!
Our four-legged friends can be so curious, so it is important that we make sure your homes are a safe and secure place for them.
Here are our top tips for pet-proofing your home:
Living Room

- Place any children’s toys out of reach to avoid pets ingesting them.
- Remove or relocate any ornaments which may be knocked over and broken.
- Place common house plants, that may be toxic, out of reach.
Kitchen

- Make sure any medicine, chemicals, laundry detergents and cleaning chemicals are stored out of reach.
- Keep all bins covered or tucked away.
- Keep all human food out of reach.
- Place childproof latches on cupboards to keep pets out.
Bathroom

- Make sure any medicine, chemicals, laundry detergents and cleaning chemicals are stored out of reach.
- Ensure the toilet lid is closed to stop your pet from drinking the liquid and/or cleaning chemicals.
- Pack all electrical equipment such as hair dryers and straighteners away once finished with them.
Bedroom
