Can my dog eat Christmas Dinner?

Everyone knows the real reason for the season is the festive food and culinary delights, and it can be tempting to give in to those puppy dog eyes and sneak your four-legged friend a sausage under the table.

Bones

Onions, Garlic, and Chives

The use of garlic, onion, and chives could lead to toxic anemia and digestion issues. Even when these ingredients are used in small quantities within a dish; you shouldn't take the risk as, unfortunately, your dog's digestive system isn't up for the task!

Grapes and Alcohol

While alcoholic beverages are a great way for humans to wind down an evening - they are absolutely not appropriate for our pups. Even unfermented grapes and raisins can have hazardous effects on the health of your dog, so keep the nuts and raisins out of reach, too! 

Chocolate

Theobromine is an active ingredient in chocolate, and just like caffeine in coffee and tea, it is hazardous for your dog. Increasing the heart rate of your beloved pet, it's sadly a very common cause of death in the canine community - so keep a close eye on any selection boxes or individually wrapped pieces.

You know your dog better than anyone, so you'll know when something's out of the ordinary. However, a basic list of symptoms to look out for include:
